Okay, females, are tights actually warm? Or are they one of many discomforts endured in the struggle for cuteness?
I have been out walking on some bitter, painfully cold days only to see some lady walk by in a hip little skirt and fancy tights looking cozy as a pancake in butter. I DON'T UNDERSTAND |

I am not female. But... err... yes.
They are warm if they are thick enough, but yes, there is a certain amount of sucking it up involved.
Depends on the tights - generally, if they're opaque, they'll be densely woven enough to retain heat and keep your legs in decent shape (unless there's a bitter wind - in which case they're still better than jeans that let cold air rush up your ankles).
If they're wool or silk tights, they can keep you very cozy indeed.
Think of them as stylish long-johns with feet attached.
But if you see a chick wearing filmy tights or fishnets, she is just being a twit.
I completely agree with the above.
I sometimes wear tights WITH jeans, if its cold enough.
Knit tights are the greatest and coziest things ever. I avoid pants in the winter because they are TOO COLD. I do not understand people who wear jeans in the winter. How do they keep their skin from making contact with frigid denim doom? Do they not use their knees? Knees are so convenient. Also, teddy bears are expensive. With knit tights, your legs become far cuddlier than any plush toy. It is economical!
they take some initial getting used to, but after that they are quite comfy. that is, the thicker, stretchier ones are. sheer ones are kind of lame.
it's a lot harder to get used to them with leg hair. | |
